About Us

Evan and Jen Payne both grew up in the Sterling/Dixon area. After they were married, they moved away and have lived in New Orleans, Louisiana as well as Austin and Canyon Lake, Texas. After almost 13 years away they have decided to return with their family and start an affordable, family-oriented Martial Arts program in the area.

Their love of martial arts came when a flier came home with the kids from school and they decided to enroll the kids. it was not long after that Jen decided she would join the kids in this journey. Jen made it to Orange belt before Evan Joined, but it quickly became a competition of trying to outwork the other to progress through the ranks.

The Jouney did not stop there. While they were still brown belts they started teaching a class together and quickly grew the class to well over 50 students ranging from age 4-74. All of this while their children started competing on a National traveling competition team. Evan stepped in to become a coach for this team and with the help of the other coaches and mentors helped coach over 20 students to World and state titles in NASKA, ISKA, and TKO. Many of these students became back to back world title holders.

Jen and Evan both earned multiple individual honors on their journey to black belt, that included student of the year as well as Brown Belt of the year. They both walked the stage and earned their Black belts together. Jen always makes sure to let people know that she started first and got hers tied on first!
